Paul C. Mercer

I was born and raised in Canterbury, and educated for a bit in St Andrews. I’m married, with three grown up (or nearly grown up) children. I write in a shed in a garden in Bromley, South London, England.

My writing shed, putting on a brave face after
Storm Eunice dumped a silver birch on it

I have worked for the Ministry of Agriculture, the European Commission, the UK telecoms regulator (OFTEL), and the Financial Services Authority, but now earn my living by writing TV screenplays. I’ve written more than forty hours of TV drama for the BBC, under my nom de vie of Paul Campbell (the “Mercer” comes from my mum’s side of the family).

I have never written a book before.

Always happy to chat.
